My auto went out on me while driving.
I was doin about 45 and without any noise, it felt like it went into neutral. Pusing the gas did not accelerate the car; just reved the engine. But the speedometer ran up saying i was doing 120ish. I was free coasting. While still coasting I fliped it into neutral (thinking i had disengaged the drive by accident) and neutral acted perfectly fine. Just like it should. Popped it back into drive; and same thing. Engine reved normally, but the car was not accelerating. So i coasted into a gas station parking lot. Put the car in park and popped the hood. While the car was in park; as i let off the break the car rolled back, like it was in neutral. So i got it home now, Ran threw all the gears/modes (w/e) (PRND1L) and they all act the EXACT SAME! When shifting BACK into park from gear, it makes a grinding noise. So I checked the fluid but no metal shaving, pieces teeth or anything else. Bands are all still good as well. Calling it a night for now, But what ya'll thinking? Engagement/pressure plate not hitting? There IS...well... WAS fluid (till i started taking the tranny apart Second guess me guys! Oh yeah, BTW. I know. I'm Back. It took 3 min for 2 people to already notice http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=70735&hl= I love being famous -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! my A245E is acting in a similar way, but no spazzing out speedometer and i have a pretty specific set of circumstances.
will increaseingly fall out of gear when in TCC lockup in either 4th or 3rd gear at speeds above 45mph after being in TCC for several minutes or less or more. will free rev in any selected gear range for a brief period of time. with solenoid connector unplugged transmission drives normally running on manual selected hydraulic shifts only without 4th and TCC. i'm suspecting that it may possibly be a bad solenoid or a short somewhere causing my issue, a solenoid could be coming open or going closed at the wrong time and causing fluid pressure to be vented from the TCC circuit and then the trans acts like its in neutral. that or i have a failing one-way clutch going on, but its too intermittent for that i think. fluid is clean/new and unburnt with no hint of smelling bad. its such a sudden thing, i don't think its a pressure issue causing a slipping tcc (bad seal) or a worn out tcc. but i've done pretty much zero diag beyond some reading of troubleshooting in my factory manaul. -------------------- |
