If you're getting a CEL its likely because the ECU isn't getting a sensor signal that it should be.
Go to sensor check in SAFC and see if everything is working. Make sure the throttle and pressure are there, those are the most important two. Double check that the wire going from the SAFC to the ecu for manifold pressure is hooked up correctly. Make sure all your connections are good. I really recommend that you solder everything. Make sure there are no possible shorts. Everything should be taped up well, there shouldn't be any exposed wires. Make sure your maps are all set to zero to start with. Make sure you have the right pressure sensor selected. I believe most toyotas are either 01 01 or 03 03. I've used both and they seem to work fine. Is the throttle calibrated? It should read 0% when you're off the gas and 100% at full throttle. If it doesn't go back and recalibrate it. Don't get discouraged man. Its a complex thing and it won't always work perfect the first time. Also, don't expect it to make any power until its tuned correctly on a dyno. Until then, its just a pretty gage. |
