The easiest way to tell is the engine.
The easiest way to tell the engine is by how it sits in the engine bay. Does it sit straight up with the valve pan (the piece the 4 wires go into the middle of, spaced out every few inches) seeming parallel with the ground? Or does it lean backwards toward the firewall (the piece of metal that separates the passenger cabin from the engine bay) with the valve pan laying at a backward angle? If the engine sits straight up, it is the 7AFE 1.8L which comes in the ST (AT200.) If the engine lays back at a cant, it is the 5SFE 2.2L, which comes in the GT (ST202.)
