when i brake hard, e-brake light comes on and goes back off when car weight shifts.

sometimes when the car shifts weight when changing from 1st to 2nd or in 2nd gear and releasing the gas pedal, it lights on too.

is this bad and how could i fix this? thanks

True, you should check your pads. As your pads wear down they need to be pushed farther out, making the fluid levels in your res read low. If you replace the pads and your fluid levels are still at low then you need to look into a fluid leak somewhere.

And if you say it's already full then I would go ahead and replace the pads now and have your rotors turned. Put the car on jack stands and take the rotors some place to be turned, and while everything is off go ahead and toss on some braided lines on there.

what do you mean by rotors turned? is that the same as resurfacing it? i had new rotors installed on july '08 nad the brake pads as well. i will try to check them again to make sure.

i just dont quite get this but is the ebrake mech/system different from the rear brakes?
