I've been thinking about the limited edition anniversary ST. Ive never seen a limited edition GT. If im right why would toyota make the ST the limited edition model, when the gt is the top model? What are your thoughts.
This might have been brought up before but i couldn't seem to find it if so a moderater can deleate this topic. -------------------- ![]() Weekend Warrior-----1998 Celica GT: White Daily Driver----------1997 Celica GT: Blurple |

Yeah, 1996 is the 25th anniversary since the first celica had rolled off the production line... I think this goes back as far as the T chassis goes?
Also in Japan it was the SS-I (lowest model) that got marked the special edition, I think its the same deal in the USA, But its a Base model with Sunroof, Celica printed on the seats, and in other places. I've seen one of these SS-I's, it had no spoiler and no holes in the boot, the rear Celica badge was the cursive type in gold as with the front and rear Toyota emblems, just standard 15" Toyota alloys, facelift bumper, no splitters or sideskirts, had facelift foglights, facelift tails, sunroof, celica printed on the seats, the particular one I saw was 3L2 renaissance red, automatic, 3s-fe. Wikipedia tells me in Japan there was a SS-III Special Edition aswell as the SS-I, but I've never seen a 25th Anniversary SS-III (aka Special Edition). I had a 1996 SS-III and it wasnt one of them, I've also seen many other 1996 SS-III's and none of them were it. -------------------- Mike W
