I ended up decided to go pick up this 2nd gen 3sgte engine and trans this saturday. I'm going to bring my compression tester along and just make sure how that is. I'll be posting pictures up as soon as i get them. I hope all goes well.

The easiest way to differentiate between the two, think of it this way, C-commuter. S-sport. The C52 has longer gears for better highway MPG.
