Firstly I'll say hi
First post and I already need some advice, I promise I'm not always like this lol Brought the car a couple of weeks ago and the last few days I have noticed a problem that has me baffled and am hoping its a common easy fix on the Celica When I get in the car its fine, I drive for about a mile and it gives a feeling that you have a flat tyre, steering wobble etc, No noises, knocks or grinding etc, pull over, then pull back off and its gone, no wobble nothing and it wont do it again! Its happened literally 4 times in 2 weeks, it might go a couple of days without doing it and when it does happen simply pull over and then pull off and 99.9% of the time it will be fine again Any ideas? |

To tell you the truth I'm 99 percent sure you have an issue with one of your drive axles. Even if the axle boots look good the internal ball bearings inside the axle specially on the outside "tire side" will not move freely because of contaminated grease or bad bearings and it will cause the simptoms you are descriving. And the reason you feel it does it only when you first start driving is because the grease in the axle will eventually lossen up as you drive and make the simptoms go away.
If you take your car to the shop they should be able to tell you which side is the problem. If you want to do it yourself, you are going to have to remove one axle from the spindle and move the tip in different directions. If you feel it's hard to move it then it means you have found the issue. Good luck and I hope you solve this issue. ; ) |
