 celica help?, 5th gen and 6th gen |

hey guys and girls im thinking about picking up a celica but stuck between a couple things. Between the 5th gen and 6th gen which is lighter? i love the looks of both so im going off weight. Im also interested in doing a swap im probally gonna have 3-4 grand depending on the celica i buy for the swap. Probally going to see the doc to do it but dont know between 3sge beams and 3sgte or just turboing the stock motor. looking for somewhere around 300whp reliable and most likely end up spending more haha but all help is appreciated thanks!!

Probally going to see the doc to do it but dont know between 3sge beams and 3sgte or just turboing the stock motor. looking for somewhere around 300whp reliable and most likely end up spending more haha but all help is appreciated thanks!! 6th gen coupe is the lightest (iirc) 5sfte is about the cheapest way to go; to achieve 300whp. unless you know a parts/salvage shop that can get you an MR2/alltrac 3sgte 1-2nd gen for about 500 or less. good luck with that though; round here the motor alone goes for 1500/mr2 2nd gen.  that's also asusing that you'll be doing all the work yourself. and believe you me, there is plenty of resource here to DIYself. plus WI has several members, so you're okay.
