I own a 98 celica gt, pretty basic nothing special
and im lookin for a little more power with little expense
so i have read that the 5sfe stock head was built specifically for economy performance
and i was wondering if its possible to throw a 3sge head on it with a ton on modifacations or work.
my car has 270,000 miles on it and i need this information for when i put a new 5sfe in it.
but i also was wondering if its possible for a 3sge to hook staright up to a 5sfe tranny?
i know you need a new ecu and what not but transmission hook up im not sure
im guessing the motor mounts are the same too.

Thanks

I'm not sure if the tranny would work, but I would suggest going with a better tranny. I'm not saying the 5s tranny is a bad tranny, but if you're going to be putting down a lot of HP, then why not just go with a stronger tranny, such as the E153. I've heard talk about putting the 3s head on the 5s, but never actually seen it done before. Hopefully if it's possible, there will be some threads out there with some info for yuh. Good luck bro!
