I own a 98 celica gt, pretty basic nothing special
and im lookin for a little more power with little expense
so i have read that the 5sfe stock head was built specifically for economy performance
and i was wondering if its possible to throw a 3sge head on it with a ton on modifacations or work.
my car has 270,000 miles on it and i need this information for when i put a new 5sfe in it.
but i also was wondering if its possible for a 3sge to hook staright up to a 5sfe tranny?
i know you need a new ecu and what not but transmission hook up im not sure
im guessing the motor mounts are the same too.

Thanks

I built a 5sgte. Not that hard. Just like assembling any motor. Just make sure coolant passages line up, if not some modifications need to be done.

Correction, ATS's headgasket is just a TTE 3sgte head gasket they use. Just keep in mind, buy the head first then figure out which HG to use.

And the s54 trans from your car will bolt up to a 3sgte or 3sge of your choice no problems. just need a custom clutch.
