I play WR and DB for my school. What I saw there was.. Reggie didn't break out of his route the way he usually does. He basically gave away the comeback route because he didnt sell it. I have to give Porter some credit though because he used his knowledge to read that play. the defense was a blitz and he was playing cover 4 so his eyes were on the QB and they previously ran that comeback route before so odds are in a situation like that trying to move the sticks it would come again. It was a good read. BUT Reggie Wayne is NOT a elite receiver. It showed today, hes afraid of contact. The drive before he dropped a potential touchdown. Marvin would have caught that. The WRs didnt play well at all for the colts, thus the saints are champions.

For the first time since you joined this site, I agree with PART of what you said. -Reggie is an elite WR who just didn't show up today (100 rec, 1,220 yards I think this season) -Marvin sure as hell wouldn't have done it, he avoided hits moreso than Reggie Reggie was there, he was jumped underneath. It was a good read. It was a good read, but everything about that route was done poorly by Reggie. Didn't sell the play, and didn't break it up This post has been edited by dustin15brown: Feb 8, 2010 - 3:19 PM -------------------- ![]() |

Yes he avioded hits, but he made those impossible catches which makes him Elite. Regular season stats dont mean anything when you discuss ELITE receivers. Elite receivers catch those game changing TDs, or 3rd down passes in traffic. Marvin did that constantly throughout his career, Randy Moss does it, Jerry Rice did it.. those are elite receivers, they show up and make game changing plays day in and day out. When you think of Reggie Wayne you think of a good receiver, not Elite. -------------------- THIS IS WHERE WE HOLD THEM!
