I found a video of a guy with a 5th gen Celica Alltrac that swapped in a v6 & kept his car AWD. Probably old news for a lot of you but it was new to me when I saw it. The video is here.
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/176894/gt4_alltrac_v6/ The search function on here doesn't let you search for two or three letter words so V6 + AWD doesn't come up with anything. I'm sure that the guy has to hang out on one of the forums, either here or Celicatech, alltrac.net, GT4oc or one of the MR2 forums. Any one know him, or have additional info on the car. I'm interested in seeing the challenges associated with this swap. A supercharged or twin turbo V6 GT4 would be awesome. I'd love to see more. Please don't flame me for asking? I did try to search. |

i'm sure its possible. the v6 swap can be done w/a 3vz and a e153 (made for fwd or AWD) so... you'd just have to continue the gt4 rear components from there

i'm sure its possible. the v6 swap can be done w/a 3vz and a e153 (made for fwd or AWD) so... you'd just have to continue the gt4 rear components from there E153 is FWD, the E154F is the AWD version, simply an addition gear set fed to the rear where the FWD housing would normally end. Plus stronger dual sychro's |
