Alright, I have no idea as to how to remove the trim for the passenger side air vent on the dash below the air bag. (you know, the difficult one to remove) I'd like to get it out to paint the trim, but it's a bitch and I don't wanna have to break it. Any suggestions or am I gonna have to break it?

The typical thing to break is the bottom clip on the vent. It makes it a tad looser, but still holds in place just fine.
The first time I took it out I was so worried about it because of all the negative things I've heard about it. But after taking mine out, I was able to help a friend with his(aka, do it for him) without breaking it. But even with the broken clip on mine I haven't had any problems with it. You have to take the glove box and the surrounding pieces out though or it will be next to impossible to make the vent line up to the tube(the one carrying the air) properly. The first time I did it the vent wouldn't blow any air. Not to mention that taking the pieces out lets you see exactly what's holding it in place(which doesn't make it too much easier, but it does help). |
