i dont know if anyone else saw it but tonight on the show passtime on speed channel there was a tube chassis celica with a small block american motor in it and it ran a 10 second quarter mile. i was in my room and my roomate screamed my name to come downstairs and see it. I dont watch that show cause its allways american cars, and it wasnt really a 6gc cause it was rwd with usdm muscle motor behind it but it was a rather random sight to see. It even had a blower up through the hood. It is funny though that even with muscle car motor in it and tube chassis it cant touch the 3sgte head/2.2 block frankenstien drag celicas of the late 90's early 2000's. not to mention the supra chassied setups.

God I love how the American auto makers still can't even hit the 100HP Per Liter mark even in 2010 which which the Jappers have been doing since last Century.
Rather have a 6GC with 412HP than a Shipping Container with 412HP... -------------------- Mike W

Rather have a 6GC with 412HP than a Shipping Container with 412HP... its a little bit harder to hit the 100 hp/l mark when you're dealing with larger displacements. and I'm pretty sure you could get a cobalt with something close to 125hp/l. The NISMO 370Z is doing good to get 96 hp/l out of it's V-6. The more cylinders you ad, the harder it is to get your power / displacement. can you name 1 other Japanese car that can put out similar power in an NA V-8? oh, I found that a BMW M6 has a 5.0L V-10 that makes 514. But other than that, i havent found anything that is beating the 100 hp/l mark in something besides a, I-4 The bottom line is HP is HP. Edit: Sorry for the rant. I love my Celica, but I just hate baseless claims that all things American suck. This post has been edited by jimmykay: Feb 25, 2010 - 12:37 PM -------------------- '99 Celica GT - Sold
