I have been looking into swapping my 1994 ST 1.8L w/ auto tranny for a jdm 3sgte. Is it possible to use with awd tranny in CA?
I am aware that the Japanese do not have EGR systems. Is it possible to use a intake manifold and egr system from a close relitive in california for smog purposes? Will the gt-4's gas tank mount in the same spot on the 6G st? I wish to achieve awd, is their a large problem that I am overlooking? Because not many people are doing this it seems.. Is it because lack of drivetrain/suspension parts in the US? Is their holes to accomidate the driveline bracket? Cat converter? exauhst, will it get in the way of the driveline? I am assuming the front ST halfshafts wont spline up with the jdm tranny? Will I be able to use the front hub assembly? How would I cope with the rear diff between the rear halfshafts? Import GT4 from japan to Guam. Leave it on island for 6 months, and while its sitting take a vacation accumulate around 30,000 miles on it (seems impossible right?) then register it, and ship it to america and it will be perfectly legal....lol, you can weld, do it illegally or wait around another 8 years.....just another option if you belive me ^_^
