Since alot of us think this is a horrible thing for the 5s, how about throwing in some crower rods and Ross pistons 8:5:1 and then turning up the boost..huh huh tell me thats not gonna last

Do they make Crower rods and Ross Pistons for the 5sfe? If they do, lowering the compression is the best thing you can do to reliably run a turbo system. I do know they make this stuff for 3sgte, which can potenitally fit a 5sfe with modification (different cranks, stroke, bore...etc), however, I've never heard of this stuff being made for the 5sfe. If they were made, it'll probably fit directly to the stock crank. You can run higher boost more reliably, but the part in question is the crank. Depending on how much boost you run... the crank may or may not be able to take it. As for a turbo 5sfe... it's actually a lot easier to do than a 7afe turbo. The past 5sfte problems were not because of the engine... instead, it was because of poor tuning by the turbo'ees. I forget exactly who's who or what's what, but it was always related to a fuel thing... either injectors, fuel pump, or what-not. Those things must be properly upgraded in order to run more fuel to compensate for turbo knock... which tends to happen a lot more easily to the 5sfe than the 7afe. It has little to do with compression, because both engines have the same compression ratios (9:5:1)... -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
