I have been trying to think of a way to enable my Fog Lights to turn on ithout having my headlights on. I wonder if anyone can help me with this. Hopefully I don't have to go through a lot of funky rewiring with extra switches n stuff. I would just like to be able to hit the fog light switch without the headlights. Any help would be GREATLY apprieciated! THNX

What you want to do then is find the +12 volts wires coming from your fog lights. These wires will go to terminal 87 of a SPDT automotive relay. Terminal 30 will go straight to the battery, and will need an inline fuse. Terminal 86 will go to ground. Terminal 85 will go to one side of a switch, and the other side of the switch will go to one of your ignition wires in the ignition harness. This will make it so that your fog lights won't be able to be on when your key isn't turned to the ignition on position though. If you want to be able to turn them on whenever you want, you could wire the other side of the switch that doesn't go to the relay straight to your battery, though you may kill your car's battery if you ever forget to turn off your fog lights. Personally, when I get more fog lights, I will tap into the parking light circuit to energize the coil of the relay, so that my fog lights will require the parking lights to be on and will make use of the car's auto-off feature. Hope this helps. ![]() -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
