Need help, should i rewire sides? Options

i just installed jdm sides on my usdm car and i got to say they look really nice. only thing though is that they are always lit. i have been looking at all the cars around my neighborhood with side markers on the fenders and i have yet to see one that is continuously lit. they only blink when the sides are on. are having them continously on illegal in the US or something? having these on my car are already kinda illegal i really dont want to draw that much more attention to myself.

has anyone rewired them so they only come with the turn signals. or does anyone have any suggestions?

EDIT: just rechecked the how to and it shows how to rewire them. which wiring would be best for a usdm vehicle?

thanks guys, everything is working perfectly. currently wired to only come on when blinking. i dont think they are illegal and if they are then definitely not enforced. and in the end my girlfriend made the final decision for me. "if they are white then keep them on, if they are orange then only when it blinks".. hehe.
