Was wondering what a stage 3 clutch was like. I was checking out this Civic and the guy is like it has a stage 3 clutch in it and thats all he would tell me over the phone.

Is this a different type of clutch than normal that makes it harder or easier to shift. Just a n00b question.

yeah, when you just drop the clutch in second gear or something the car hops and kinda throws you forward and backward.

i dont know if that makes sense, the stock clutch does it not when speed shifting but when im shifting a little faster and i get lazy with the clutch.

A heavier clutch on a car like ours with lower engine output would probably feel rougher, if thats what you mean by the bucking. Other than that, it could just be a personal feel issue where you're trying too hard to dump that clutch for shorter shifts. Not to say that you suck or something, cuz im not like that....just that if you get lazy with the clutch, any type of clutch will throw you foward and backward a little if you arent smooooothhh. wink.gif

If youre patient and smooth (yet quick) with your clutch instead of "dropping" the clutch too roughly, it will be much more precise and direct when you get back on the gas. More direct = more power to wheels = the point of a heaver clutch. smile.gif
