my friend bought a 94 5S-FE Celica GT-S 5speed with a blown motor

he's attempting to swap in a 3S-GTE
could anyone tell me what he needs other than the motor

will the 5S tranny bolt up to the 3S-GTE?
what else does he need other than the computer?
are the subframes the same? any needs for custom mounts if the 3S-GTE mounts are available?

any input would be much appreciated biggrin.gif

^so your saying the mounts for the 5S will transfer over to the 3S no problem
and the bulk of the work is wiring?

IIRC the canadian GT-S is simply the US GT model.
I will be able to find the JDM GT4 motor for the celica no problem.
I've already found a 94~97 GT4 3SGTE with the black TMIC that says CELICA in white letters.
if that is the correct motor and 90% of the parts..I think we'll start tackling this project.

to my understanding, yes. i kno the mounts will swap over and there is a little rewiring done for the harness to connect. you will need to buy a custom clutch (Dr. Tweak makes them) i was recommened to get the stage 4 clutch from him and im buyin the ultra leight weight steel fly wheel as well, you dont have to, u can simply resurface the flywheel at a machine shop but a leight weight flywheel will help to motor reach higher rpms faster bc it spins more easily, idk if the way i said that makes sense lol
