I own a sw20 currently have a gen 3 swap, and I just purchase a caldina gen4 short block (headgasket came with it)from rpmgarage, plan on being 100 octane, this is a track car.how good is the short block going to hold, I know a few people say that the rods are thinner, same as beams (same part number), but I did see one make 394whp 22psi 100octane, with just bolt ons, who else on there celica has good succes with there 4th gen engine. here are my specs,http://rides.turbomagazine.com/ride/1013953/deseroner/1991/toyota/mr2/index.html
the reason I went with this block high compression, stronger block currently have gen3 97 block not the revised around the water pump.

the 4th gen blocks are very strong capable of handling good amoutnts of HP stock. they are just about identical to the other gen blocks and even the 5s block. ive been told (and seen) the blocks handle in upwards of 600hp but of course other mods were made.

You want power but have no money. That's a problem.

Cheap. Reliable. Fast. Pick two.
