body filler : evercoat lightweight filler - $18 / gal.
primer : Marhyde 2k primer and catalyst - $120 gal. primer & 1 qt of catalyst(i used 2.5 gallons)
base coat : DuPont 99k - $200 gal.
base maker : DuPont chromasystem 7160s low temp - $70 gal. i think
clear coat : Nason select 496-00 and 483-78 mid temp activator - $80 for 1 gal of clear and 1 qt activator (purchased 2.5 gals)
reducer : Finish Pro (pretty generic brand) mid temp - $20 gal i think ( i mixed with clear to help it flow out more)
prep : dupont 7160s prep sol - maybe $20 gal.

guns used : primer - old Sharpe with a 1.6 tip
base/ clear - Devilbiss millennium gti probably a 1.2 tip

sanding : paper i recommended using all 3m
36 grit for rough filler work, 80 for general filler work, 180 for primer prep on filler, 400wet for gen primer prep,
600wet for paint prep, 800wet for paint prep, 1500wet for buffing and 2000wet for buffing

misc : durablocks!!! if you have ever used them then you know why. i used them to block filler, primer and to wet sand. 1in tape, 1.5in tape, seam sealer, cold knife, long knife, 12in paper, 20in paper(i think),

buffing : makita variable speed polisher running at 1100rpm, wool pad, black "waffle" foam pad, finesse it 2 buf compound, finesse it 3 machine glaze-dark, eagle one nano wax

hey man i got in an accident and am getting the whole car repainted. but to keep costs low.. i wanna do all the prep work.

what should i do to prep besides removing all the lights. do i need to sand down to bare metal on all the dings? or just scuff it up to use bondo?
