Rotating tires is just bringing back to front, front to back and switching the right side with left, correct? For example, the front right tire would end up in rear left. If that's all it is, I can do it myself, right?

Just pay attention if you have directional tires. They'll have an arrow on the sidewall showing the way they need to rotate when going down the road. If you have directional tires you can only rotate front to back, you can't switch sides.
