So 3 days after the car has finally been running solid, and I've just been enjoying her agian. Murphy caught me...
Sitting at the exit of a gas station, behind a dodge ram 1500, about 6 feet back. I see reverse lights, slam the horn and BAM! Seems he got inpatient and decided to go to the other exit without looking behind himself. He jumped out, I jumped out looking at my car screaming saying "DO YOU KNOW HOW PARTS FOR THIS CAR COST!?"...needless to say, I calmed down, highway patrol came by, got the report. Wonderful to see No circled under contributed to collison, being I only had liability. That was until last night, I upgraded after the claim. I've put to much into her to lose her due to someone else. Best part, never been in a accident. In the 9 years I've been driving, I can no longer say that. Very very sad panda. Pictures! ![]() Yea you can't see his hitch....because its inside my highbeam....=/ ![]() ![]() And how I feel about it. ![]() ---------------------------------- Good thing is though, when all its said and done. I'll probally come out on the top, with that "ghost emblem" facelift bumper I purchased, all painted and install professionally, with hopefully some change left over for projectors....ah, now that would be all worth it. ![]() ![]() Looks like they are going to consider it a total loss..... Turns out the reinforcement bar was shoved back into the frame, front bumper loss, high and low beam loss, horn replacement, and some line near the radiator needs to be reworked....all in all, alot more repair costs then the value of the car. Oh yea, potential fender bends. Blue book value is 2250-2400 - USAA gives 70% on total loss, so roughly 1600, then purchase back salvage estimated at around 500. So I have about 3-4 grand in damage if it was done at a shop, possibly more. So I'll have 1100 to fix it myself....and I know its going to cost more then that....AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHhhhhhh! Only good thing out of this, is because the value of the car is less then 2500, my title remains clean, no salvage stamp. This post has been edited by rave2n: Jun 10, 2010 - 9:16 AM |
