 Sub help, 8" subs in doors |

i have a 97 with the 4 speaker system and i want to replace the door speakers with some 8" subs, but i dont wanna buy any then find out they won't fit..... what's the max depth?? do i need free air subs??

It depends upon exactly what you're aiming to accomplish -- which is why there's such a variety of answers in this thread.
I run a set of Focal 210 CA1, which are actually two-ways with an integrated crossover. I've got them set up for full-range as I was looking for staging and adequate bottom end rather than blow the doors off bass. That said, whether it's a bass drum or a kettle drum, there's a good bit of thump available. |
