i have a set of tanabe df210 springs. the instructions say to cut the bump rubber. what exactly is that? does it effect ride height, because my car doesn't look like it has a 2.2 inch drop right now. thanks.

Damn, that looks ridiculously high...like stock height. If there was no lowering at all between installation and stock (hard for you to tell because you came from coils), then there's something wrong. Springs will only settle about half an inch at most, not entire inches.
