my 7a is boiling the water in the coolant resavoilr. i checked the thermostat. it is fine it opens in boiling water. what could be the problem. oh and the head gasket is brand new. the top radiator hose is hot and the bottom one is cold.

Stephen Lee is right, radiator cap.
Or the radiator could be cracked in the plastic, mine had a very small crack in it that made it lose enough pressure to boil, but was very hard to see. -------------------- 1999 Celica GT
