Hey guys, I'm new here and have been lurking the forums for a while now but finally decided to register!
Does anyone know of any online parts places that I can get an intercooler pump from? I've been looking around for a while now and have had no luck thus far. Its for a 1994 GT4 WRC.. mine seems to be dead as im getting code 54 and I know its not from the level sensor, and when i've put power direct through the relay the pump doesnt turn on.. so either its seized from sitting around in japan for however long, a broken wire after the relay somewhere, or the pump is just dead.. Thanks in advance! ![]() |

This is good to know. I just got my st205 also. My aux water pump is making some noise too... I will take it out and check the bearing as you did. I'm not very interested in spending 800 bucks on an auxiliary pump! The coolant for the intercooler is a completely seperate system from the rest of the engine is it not?

Yup its a completely separate system from your engine coolant. There are 2 bearings inside it, the one closest to the impeller on mine was completely seized up! A bit of advice before you take it apart is that the nut that holds the impeller onto the shaft is left hand thread, and there are a few small shims in there, make sure you get all the shims back in otherwise the impeller could possibly rub! ![]() And im with ya, 3$ worth of bearings and a few hours of your time beats the hell out of 800 for a new one, although from the look of the pump itself, with some harness modification i think you could make any 12v pump work... the connector is 5 wires, but the pump itself is only 2 wires.. the other 3 wires are resistance wires that are looped into the main power feed for the pump.. you cant get rid of that or you'll get a cel, but i THINK if you were to cut the wiring right before the pump you should be able to replace it with another 12v pump. I will put this theory to the test if my pump ever permanently dies. |
