What is the Normal Break in period for a fully rebuilt 3sgte. my guy at toyota says to take it easy for 5000 miles. Which sucks because I only drive the celi on the weekends.

it you rip it right away you'll blow the motor within a week, it happened to a friend of mine. When i got my civic rebuilt, i waited 1500km then ripped it and it was fine.

Not necessarily. Sounds like something else was wrong with your friends motor. How do you think drag motors are broken in? You just put them together, do the cam break in procedure and run it. Running it hard right away will not hurt anything unless there was something already wrong. The reason for a break in period is to allow the rings to seat properly, not to keep the engine from blowing up.
