Anyone have their downpipe ceramic coated? I've heard it doesn't hurt to do it but I also heard it can cause pre-mature cracking of the metal. I've also read if you get it coated you should get the inside and outside done kindasad.gif Just curious if any of you guys have it done and what your thoughts are. I was thinking about getting my new downpipe coated high temp black to help with engine bay heat and for visual aesthetics. Thanks in advance!

if you have a cheaply made downpipe with low quality steel, ceramic coating will accelerate aging on it, coating the inside and outside is the way to do it properly, if you coat only the outside, the metal is expose to higher temperatures because it will not be able to radiate the heat as well as uncoated, when you coat the inside it keeps some of the heat from getting into the metal in first place thus keeping gases at higher temperature and moving faster.
