 Caldina 4th gen Tranny question |

It says that the transmission it comes with is already FWD, can I just use the transmission is comes with and buy axles ?

the AWD trans can be converted to FWD easily, I was in the process of doing just that, but an oversight of me lead to me damaging the casing of the trans, but is easy to do, there are a few write ups on MR2 websites about doing it, you'll need an MR2 diff ( LSD preferred ) and a cover for where the trasnfer case bolts to the trans, that's it.
search for the write ups on how to do this, and BE patient, it seriously is not hard, I just rushed through it and damage my housing. n00b mistake, but oh well. BTW the MR2 trans is the same ( internally as the caldina or ST205 celica trans. so as long as you put an LSD idff in there, is like having an MR2 trans, but newer. --------------------  |
