It's not BS, and it was certainly a surprise to me. To be honest, I wanted nothing to do with the race and (excuse me) was scared ****less by the sound of his blowoff valve, and the glow from his gauges. But he revved at me, so I said ok.
I don't know how I managed until 2nd gear, I don't know why. I could hear his engine (so I could hear he was trying), I could look over and see his headlights slightly behind mine(it wasn't like I was 3 carlengths ahead). I was pretty sure it was super'd, because I could hear the blowoff valve as he pulled up to the light, and most mustangs I hear are super'd, not turbo'd. It's certainly a possibility that he was turbo'd, and was experiencing turbo lag. Futhermore, one last thing. It wasn't like it was a GT mustang or anything. Regular, consumer mustangs that every mom and pop thinks they're the **** driving, don't have THAT much on us. You'll also notice I didn't beat it, I lost the race, but I held my own off the line. Or then, maybe Coom's right, and he just had a crappy lunch. I'm not trying to start an argument here, nor am I trying to jam bull**** down your throats.
