So I was thinking of putting together a cruise day for the last couple months, but have been really really busy with work, thus wasn't able to get it set up the last couple months. I thought September would be a good month since people will have started school and would have a more regular schedule.
I wanted to first start this thread by asking what weekend works best for most people and go from there. I was looking at either September 18th or 19th, but am flexible depending on what the majority of people say works for them. At this point I have a planned route, but I don't want to advertise it out so early, just to keep things under wraps from authorities knowing before hand. Lets just say it will be a nice canyon cruise and we'll end the day up at the Griffith Observatory for some amazing pictures with the sun setting. If anyone has not been up there, especially at the end of the day, it is nothing short of breath taking. I took 2celicas2love up there to scout out the best times to go, and she really liked it. Chime in and let me know who's interested and what days work for you. |

well, it was a great day to go for a cruise, it was nice and cool next to the beach, and we had a fun road to drive. it was only bonzai and myself, but even then it was fun. uploaded some pics, now i just need to go through the video. only set backs were a few people driving slow in spots of the road, but the most sketchy, yet funny one was when a girl in a lancer would not let us by. she had at leas 2 more passengers in the car and decided she was going to try and haul ass through the corners. well she came about 2 inches from crashing hard. lets just say wheels lifted off the ground as she turned/understeered/slammed on brakes/began to panic.
only other downer of the day, but still couldn't ruin the drive was bonzai's car overheating. car still ran, but we had to take it easy for the rest of the trip. got a little lost and i think a guy in a red f430 was talking smack to me (wasn't listening to him) as we busted a u turn in front of what we later assumed was the entrance to his driveway. learned a couple things about the roads out there, and ultimately decided that route isn't really practical for a pch to hollywood route, but would be a good route for some canyon driving ending up at the beach to finish the day. here's the pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() will be trying to set something up in a few months, probably november since i am pretty busy for the entire month of october. i'll keep you guys posted. |
