so basically i have a 94 celica, 2.2, 5 speed hoping to do a 3sge but Im still working on getting some of the wiring together before I jump into this.... but first comes first Im using this car as a daily driver right now and Im stumped.... the car runs amazing at idle and low RPMs but as soon as i get up to 4800rpms the car bogs down and falls right on its face in every gear 1st-5th... ive done spark plugs, ignitor, wiries, cap, rotor then new distributor. This pretty much happened out of no where one day it was fine the next day it started to do this. Ive taken it to toyota lol they told me my cat may be clogged so thinking they are the professional i listened to them and guess what? they were wrong.... the timing is the only thing i can possibly think of but i dont want to take it all apart and that not be the problem... any ideas would be greatly appreciated.... while you guys try to help me out im going to do more research on your site about the 3sge wiring. I work at a performance shop so doing the swap isnt hard we put v6's in 92-95 civic hatches so Im sure we can figure out this wiring but still need a little help. thanks in advanced!

Take the time and diagnose it. It took my six months to figure out why my car would stall randomly, but now I have a lot of new parts I know won't break/under warranty, and my car is very reliable. Now you know it's not your fuel filter, but that's routine maintenance anyways. Have you done a fuel pressure test? you need three things for combustion to happen, spark, fuel, and oxygen; something's not happening right. Could be one of your sensors. Try connecting the E1 and TE1 terminals in the DIAG (diagnose) box in the right back corner of your engine bay, closest to the firewall. Then, with the Key on, but ENGINE OFF, see if your Check Engine Light is flashing. If it's flashing in a constant pattern, without skips, you have no DTC's. If it's flashing with skips in between, your engine is likely throwing a code pertaining to the RPM issue you're having. Hope I've helped, and hopefully this solves all your problems!
