I think my tranny seal may be leaking on the left side of the car?how do i change it?do i have to drop the tranny?

Not that Ive ever replaced the seal myself, never had the need to. But usually if there is a spring on a seal its supposed to sit on the "backside" of the seal. In essence its just supposed to help keep the seal conformed to the shaft.
