well i connected my subs after being told that i have to conect the remote wire to the yellow wire of the head unit. but the problem is now i have trouble starting up my car.
im not sure what it is but i think the subs are draining the power because even when i turn off the car the head unit is still on, it has a red light the signals as warning. i can see that even when i turn the car off, the amps still light up, which means it is still on. so im thinking since the remote wire is connect to the yeloow power wire, the amp stays on with the head unit. my car was fine before when i first got the car with the head unit and subs. due to electrical repair on the car, they reconnected my remote wire to the blue wire for the head unit. so my subs ended up didnt work for awhile. now that i connected it i think its draining all the batteries. i just switch to a new battry, but still having trouble when i started up except if i disconnect the subs. i have a fuse that connects to the battery from the amps. i dont know what to do now. did i connect the wires the wrong way?? is there other ways to connect the wires to avoid battery drainage? |

Alright, i have a question related to this as well so ill consolidate this thread as not to clutter the board with reposts
Also, IF i have to hook the blue remote wire to the red 12v power wire, where on the red wire should i splice in, and how should the wiring be connected to make sure that im not robbing much power from the headunit? (By how it should be connected, i mean...should i use a connecter like a clamp on terminal ending with the metal hoop at the end, like the kind that goes on the power wire to the amp, or is there a better way to tap into the line?) Any accurate and reliable help would be appreciated. Im pretty familiar with wiring and headunits, so you dont have to dumb down your answers for me...I just want to do things right the first time around. -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |
