I have had this particular problem with my Celica for a while and finally got time to fix it (tried anyway):
When I open the driver's side door the dome light comes on and when I close the door it goes off. Like it should. The passenger's side will never come on. On the other hand the trunk light is always on (had to remove light bulb in order to not drain my battery). I have ordered two brand new pin switches from dealer but it didn't fix the problem. I even tried switching driver's with passenger's to eliminate bad switch. The result is still the same. Does anybody know what's wrong and how to fix this annoying issue? I'm still having a very similar problem with mine. Pass door turns on key ring and map light but not courtesy lights and driver's door don't turn anything on at all. Trunk light is off too but that could just be dead bulb. I messed up the courtesy light on the passenger door myself and I figure it could be some switches or something on the other but it doesn't seem so. I'm almost on the verge of just rewiring the whole light system with new fuses. Ugh... which won't work with my luck
