Auto Trans Shift Indicator Options

Are the letters supposed to light up at night on the auto trans shift indicator? Mine don't and I have to be careful to make sure it's in drive at night. If it is supposed to light up where is the bulb and how do you replace it?

I drive by feel.

I actually dont recall looking down at the shift lever.

I just push the button down once to pass reverse and the shift lever will automatically slide into drive without holding down the button.

thats what i usually do, but when im not all there and put it in gear, sometimes i start to second guess myself.
