I tried installing my brass shifter bushings today and I was able to get the linkage arm and the old rubber bushing off, but the brass sleeve inside the old rubber bushing stayed firmly stuck on the pin connecting to the tranny. I tried generous amounts of WD40 and pliers and I pulled and twisted for about half an hour and it wouldn't budge. Any ideas?

yup, thats pretty common, lots of PB blaster, maybe a little heat (CAREFUL AROUND THE FUEL LINES!!!) a sharp chisle, screwdriver, vice grips, pliers, or whatever, screaming, cursing, and drinking, just try to get it working back and forth, then wedge it up and off.
try not to squeeze it with pliers/vice grips TOO much, your just making it harder to get off when you do. :edit: also, it helps to properly title your threads. that way, people know what your problem is, before they click the thread, and it helps in future searches. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)
