A few days ago I noticed that when I shift into 5th gear at about 55 theres a whistling noise that kind of gets louder when i put my foot down more and then slowly gets quieter when i am cruising at a constant speed. It's not really an airy whistling, I figure somethin's rubbin on something. It's time for me to change my oil but since it JUST started I'm just curious about what all it may be. It's only in 5th gear for sure. I'm not a transmission person at all so if anybody can tell me anything I'd appreciate it.

That's a good description, yes. I also thought any belt may have changed due to the cold but they all seem fine.

My dad says the best thing I can do, since I'm buyin another car this summer, is to just wait til it goes
completely and wait til I buy the 1mz and fix the transmission all at once. It took me 5 whole minutes to get it to go into reverse today.

It's a bad feeling lol
