A few days ago I noticed that when I shift into 5th gear at about 55 theres a whistling noise that kind of gets louder when i put my foot down more and then slowly gets quieter when i am cruising at a constant speed. It's not really an airy whistling, I figure somethin's rubbin on something. It's time for me to change my oil but since it JUST started I'm just curious about what all it may be. It's only in 5th gear for sure. I'm not a transmission person at all so if anybody can tell me anything I'd appreciate it.

mine sounds like a "spoolup" and a "spool down" when slowly taking off in 1st gear or slowing down, regardless of clutch in or out, might happen in other gears but i cant hear much over my exhaust.
