A few days ago I noticed that when I shift into 5th gear at about 55 theres a whistling noise that kind of gets louder when i put my foot down more and then slowly gets quieter when i am cruising at a constant speed. It's not really an airy whistling, I figure somethin's rubbin on something. It's time for me to change my oil but since it JUST started I'm just curious about what all it may be. It's only in 5th gear for sure. I'm not a transmission person at all so if anybody can tell me anything I'd appreciate it.

its a very feint spool up and spool down sound when taking off and slowing down to a stop.

its best heard with clutch in, idle rpm, 1st gear, starting to roll down a hill, ive never tried it with the motor off but i'd imagine i'd hear it louder.

it sounds like neither a turbo or a supercharger, it sounds more like a transmission sound similar to what reverse would make but not as loud.
