Hey, I have a problem with the 3s-gte in my celica. I did the swap from the 2.2 a few years ago and it ran fine for a few years. Recently it overheats with I get on the highway. I've tried alot of the basic stuff so far, but no luck. Changed the thermostat, did an engine flush, and I threw on the radiator and fan assembly I had leftover from the swap. Seems to be a flow issue, but cant figure it out. The engine temp will shoot up and the heater cools down and when I downshift, the temp drops followed by hot air from the heater. The system has pressure, and the radiator cap is good. All the hoses seem to be in good order, and when I did the flush everything that came out looked clean. Any ideas?

How do you "bleed" the cooling system?
Everything will come out if you try to fill it with the thermostat off and the only way to get past the thermostat is with a hot engine, and working on the cooling system when its hot is just crazy. -------------------- Mike W
