So the other night I hit a pot hole in the rain, and ever since my car has been making a weird creaking and clicking noise when I turn the wheel more than 90 degrees. Any thoughts as to what it might be?
I know my front struts are about to go, but I think it's something else. |

When you turn the wheel driving, it puts pressure on the axle while it's spinning. I hear a common noise that the axle makes is a clicking sound when driving.
Changing an axle isn't that bad, and not bad price wise. I just bought a new A1 Cardone from a local parts place for about $130 but you can find them ALOT cheaper. Check for play in your tires while it's up in the air, it's a common way to check for a bad wheel bearing. When my wheel bearing went, it made a horrible squealing noise that got worse when i turned a certain way. |
