is a 4 2 1 header better then a 4 to 1? i know its kind of a noob question but i am a collision repairstudent and just trying to get some insight on the different kind of headers

yea, but not a whole much better than a 4 to 1. ... 4 to 1 is like jamming a bunch of exhaust into one. and the 4,2,1 makes it a bit more easy for exhaust to flow. both are good though.
