As a professional welder: I recommend ANYTHING! lol.
any kind of spray primer is my #1 choice unless it's going to be exposed to overheated conditions- in witch point I'd use galvanize or high temp paint. Rust is simply the decomposition of metals by bonding with water and oxygen. Deny the two culprits from exposure and [/problem] sh!t- Playdough would work if applied tight enough. lol. For that fact- so would vegetable oil.... spray adheisive, clear coating, ect.
