SO I have my engine out right now, and I'm nearly finished doing everything I have to do to it. I just need a tensioner, I was going to wait to get the tensioner to put the engine back in, but after messing around with the motor mount today, I realized that the timing tensioner can probably be put on fairly easily with the motor mount in place and just the timing cover removed. I might have to use my ratchet wrenches to get it off and put it on because the strut tower is right there, but I think it can be done with relative ease. Anyone done it in the car with the motor mount in place? I know it's difficult to raise the engine even with the front motor mount (passenger side) disconnected. Anyway, all I need to hear is "i did it" and I'll go for it.
Also something that made me happy. I can use my stock 5sfe motor mount with the gen3, all I had to do was shave a sharp edge down about 1/8 of an inch and round it off and the bracket that bolts to the block, it slipped right underneath the tensioner with no problem. Not enough was shaved off to ruin the integrity of it, and it's not in a load bearing part of the design. It's just making a sharp corner rounded and it works fine! -------------------- -Jay
