I'm reading the TWM instructions posted in Batman's 7th gen shifter install thread, I found them here.
Anyways I have a spare shifter base so I thought I might try my hands at removing the stick but I cant get the pins to budge, and judging by whats in those instructions, mine looks different to the USDM one... ![]() -------------------- Mike W

I tried doing this install also (on my JDM GT-Four) just to find out that the shifting assembly is different and it won't work. There is no place to attach the "white plastic upsidedown L arm" to the shifter. That part is needed to outline the gates for your gears.
I spent a long time trying to pry off those circle clips...you will need an xacto knife to squeeze in between the clip and the body of the shifting assembly...once you get in, you need a thin flathead screwdriver and hammer it in, working around the whole clip...then use needle nose pliers to pry it off....to remove the pins you need to hammer them out...if you remove the rubber tube on the left side of the smaller pin, you can use locking pliers to get a grip on the pin to pull it out, as it has a pattern cut into it....and after alllll that work I did...i finally noticed it won't work (b/c of the white L arm thing)...put it all back together..and sold my 7th gen shifter.... So to save you the trouble...don't do it. This post has been edited by nammer: Apr 12, 2011 - 11:06 PM -------------------- |
