Well its been six years and i'm finally going to hook up my car. Iv'e decided to go with the engine change, well after my engine gasket blew up after i allowed the engine to over heat ...crazy kicking myself for that lol. but hey better things are coming real soon. I'm opting to have the car ready to start June 2 2011, with money to drop the engine and paint the car all at once. Few decisions to make to start;
1: Do i drop the 3sgte or just turbo the 5sfe 2: If i do the swap do I wire it myself or send it out , I mean trust me i can do it if I had the right drawings 3: I'm wishing there is a Auto tranny that could take the power of a turbocharged engine....... so do i just put in a manual 4: Should I drop the engine in myself???? Question questions questions............. Well i'm going to start by posting pics of the ride from start to finish So what you guy's think? post all you want help me out. please This post has been edited by timdog1720: Aug 15, 2011 - 5:52 PM -------------------- Always fast and going for the look......

If you have to ask just pay someone to do it. Otherwise you might pull another Needles on us.

what the needless mean ???
If you have to ask just pay someone to do it. Otherwise you might pull another Needles on us. Oh hey, Welcome ![]() yea i know hes the best but its not worth 700 to send out when i can do it myself pretty good with electricity going to school for mechanical engineering Screw the time, just do it right. No offense, but if you're asking whether to swap the engine yourself or have it done, it's probably best for you to send out the harness. Tweak is popular here for wiring. In the meantime, read up and do your research and then you'll arrive at a point where you'll be able to do the swap yourself once the harness comes back and you've gathered all the necessary parts. Best of luck. ![]() -------------------- Always fast and going for the look......

yea i know hes the best but its not worth 700 to send out when i can do it myself pretty good with electricity going to school for mechanical engineering I personally work with high voltage on a daily basis, as well extensive control panel, and logic serial wiring. A few certifications to boot as well. But, those are things I specialize in. I do not specialize in Auto wiring. With that being said, I feel 500-700 for a harness conversion, is well worth the cost being if you wire incorrectly. Bye bye all that money spent on that engine. Think of it as insurance. IF you convert the harness, and do it sucessfully with no damage to exsisting parts...props to you. Good luck with your swap, looks like you have a good platform to start on. |
