Dudes, WOW are these things fast!! Had no idea it would be this quick....when I first laid into it, it actually kind of scared me....then when I changed gears to third from second, followed by the first whoooooooosh!!! Sound of my blitz d drive BOV, I feel like I'm in love, lol, but I do have a question for you guys, I thought factory 205's were around 13 psi boost.......mine for some reason is hitting 17-18 in second 15-16 in third and 14-15 in fourth, and I believe the same in 5th, is this something to be mindful of, is it hurting my baby, or perhaps I lucked out and got a WRC motor! But I don't know the boost settings on that motor, so I don't know????? Any input from you brothers and sisters would be awesome,

Wastegate pressure should be 10 psi pretty sure....it might be lower, like 7, but definitely not more than 10.
Fuel cut could have been disabled from whoever owned it previously, but you would have noticed a FCD attached to one of the ECU wires. Double check that your map sensor is plugged in and functioning correctly....that there are no leaks in the line going to it. I assume you're using an aftermarket gauge to measure boost? Does it creep to 17-18, spike to 17-18, or just hit 17-18 and stay there? Someone mentioned it above, but check that the actuator arm for the wastegate isn't hitting your downpipe. Is the ECU stock? Definitely be careful as something is definitely not right and you're not 100% sure that fuel cut still exists. You should not be hitting 17+ psi on the stock ECU with no other form of boost control. |

Nick, is an FCD a little pink thing that clips onto the wire next to where it enters the back of the ECU clip? Kinda looks like a resistor.....I guess it doesn't matter cause Tweak did my wire harness and it no longer has that piece on there and all wires are in the right pin terminal location, That said, Tweak actually tested map sensor over phone with me when T. Shooting, and it checked out perfect, as well, new hose going from it to intake manifold, I am using an aftermarket boost gauge, and yes, it creeps up to 17-18, slows down more just after 15....the ECU is stock, in order to check my actuator bracket to see if it's hitting the DP, that means I have to take it off right...But how do I know it's hitting the DP, if I can't see it??? Will there be a metal mark on the inside of the DP where it's hitting?? Thanx for all this help, |
